At the end of the year 1995 Rob got to know his first serious relationship, Jacquie Hamilton-Smith, the daughter of Lord Colwyn. They actually lived together in one apartment, but the connection broke up after not even one year.
It’s obvious that the relationship to Jacquie Hamilton-Smith has been a lot more than just an affair.

In May 1997 Rob made headlines again in romantic respects. He was seen in a hotel in Rome, accompanied by actress Anna Friel. It was said he had met her on a film premiere. Obviously it wasn’t too serious at all, the so called relationship ended quite soon again.

Believing the yellow press, the year 1997 was a “varicoloured” one for Rob, in regards of “his” women. It was said he had affairs with TV hostess and actress Denise van Outen, with Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, known as a party girl, and with the singers Natalie Imbruglia and “Sporty Spice” Mel C. Maybe not even the persons mentioned in this article know whether it’s true or not – because of temporarily poor intellectual power (considering the time these "affairs" have been – IF they have been!)

Nicole Appleton

At the end of the year 1997, more precisely in November 1997, Rob met Nicole Appleton for the very first time. They met again on the Hope-Concert and in December their friendship became more serious.
The relationship between Rob and Nic – how she was called – was denied by both of them first. Then she was photographed one morning when she left Rob’s house in London and their connection was sort of official after that. Their relationship seemed to be an everlasting one – but disagreements, even in public, arose more and more. They reconciled again, it was an “on-off relationship”. Nicole conceived in the first weeks of 1998 and Rob was more than pleased. Both decided to name the child “Grace” in case it would be a girl. Rob once mentioned that this baby would rescue him and he dedicated the song “Grace” to his unborn child. They way to start a happy family life seemed to be paved.
All the severance the couple had to stand because of their jobs were prejudicial to a successful relationship. Rob did the promotion tour for his single “Let me entertain you” which should be released in March 1998 and had to prepare himself for the sold out tour through UK, which start was planned for May 1998. Nicole Appleton was a singer in the successful girl group “All Saints” and they did an exhausting promo tour through the USA in spring 1998.
In March the couple announced that they had split. In April finally Nicole knuckled under the pressure of her management and decided to abort the baby. Rob hit rock bottom and couldn’t believe it. He flew into the States at once to be with her in these difficult hours. Two days later both arrived in London again. They tried to go on for a while, but finally the relationship broke up in full and they split for good in July 1998. One year later Nicole Appleton started a relationship with Rob’s archenemy Liam Gallagher and Rob brought every contact to her to an end.
It is seen clearly that no one can talk about an affair in this case, but about a serious and momentous relationship for both of them.
At least for the fans this dark time had a silver lining: three wonderful songs were written by Rob, the already mentioned “Grace” as well as “Heaven from here” and “Not of this earth”.

Tania Strecker

The new Millennium began with winter holidays in St Moritz for Rob. He was accompanied by Tania Strecker, a model and his manager’s stepdaughter. She had been Guy Ritchie’s girlfriend before. No one knows if the fact, that she started her TV career during the time she dated Rob, is a happenstance. Maybe their connection has been a lot deeper, Rob and her are most probably the one’s who know about it.

Fudges over the last pretended steady came up in May 2002. It was said that Rob and Rachel Hunter – actress and model – have a love affair. Rachel is four years older than Rob and still married with Rod Stewart. Rob and Rachel got to know each other at the AA’s and spend one year together, if we can believe the press reports (can we?????). Rumours are still loud that the photos and the story, which should confirm their relationship, had just been a public relation sort of thing. The photos – showing Rob and Rachel in a reputed flirtation at Rob’s swimming pool – argue for the public relation.
Relationship, affair or maybe just a PR story? If we would know both of them in person we surely would be more smart, in regards to this question

2004

Especially in summer 2004 reports about affairs accumulated. He ought to carry on with actress Valerie Cruz and his female fitness trainer, just to name a few. All these reports shaped up as public relation (or maybe it was just a canard…). Since winter 2003/04 Rob himself talks about settling down with Mrs Right and about raising a family. We can’t do much more than waiting for the time he will find his private luck.

Oktober 2005

Within the scope of the promotion tour for his new album “Intensive Care” Rob declared, he has (had?) a relationship in the USA for five month and nobody knew about it. Fans and press speculated about who the one could be (or could have been). The name of the millionaire and foundress of fashion label Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon, is mentioned again and again.

Relationship ,affair, fabrication to produce headlines, just to sell the new album more properly? We would prefer a personal information in this case as well…;-)
