Robbie Williams is definitely an idol for many of his fans – he most likely doesn’t see himself that way. Of course he has people he admires, for reasons we only can guess. These people are idols for him because of their musically skills mainly, but there are some people as well, who are special because of their characters or history. We want to mention Muhammad Ali first. He has an unbelievably huge heart faces life with all ups and downs really admirably. He never gave up, stood up for his opinion and never bent himself. Of course these things impress rob a lot, too.

The next “idol” is a lot more of musical nature, though. The “Beatles”, from a “Northern Town” like Rob, as much as “Take That” they carried away the fans. No need to write about the influence the “Beatles” had on so many musicians, it can be seen everywhere.

Bono”, front man of the famous Irish band “U2”, inhabits a special place. He wrote history already, whether it’s in his musically career or in his humanity. He set up himself a memorial by reason of his soft skills. Which musician doesn’t take his hat off to him?

Respect and admiration, for his musical career as well as for his personal engagement against racism, deserves another ultimate size of music business. Nat King Cole, not wrongly Nathaniel Adams Coles wore the sobriquet “King”. He was  part of a time which brought up marvellous artists,
the very best of them are still unforgotten and fascinate because of their personality and their songs, which are loved by the audience till today.

Sammy Davis jr. was one of the big entertainers of former times. He started on small stages – like Rob - when he was a kid, accompanied by his father, a vaudeville artist. Sammy fought for his success like a lion, he was an all-round talent and known as the biggest entertainer of his time.

Beneath Sammy Davis jr. Dean Martin played an important part in the long ago time, he was familiar with all sorts of entertainment as well. Comedy, canto, stagecraft. Dean Martin got to know Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis jr in the early sixties and completed the “Rat Pack”. We have reached the “idol” Rob paid homage to when he covered the Swing-Songs and let the old times live again for one evening – with his Swing-Show. Frank Sinatra is fascinating because of the amazing talent he had and because of his dark side – which he revealed in the contacts to the Mafia. Every person has a bright and a dark side, but mostly people can’t accept their dark side. Frank Sinatra seemed to have managed when he was alive. He was for sure the biggest entertainer of the 20th century, his charm was hard to resist. All this things make him – still - look like a “shining light”, not only for Rob. Frank and his friends were the mother-of-all “nice guys” and “womanizer”. It’s well known to us, isn’t it J? Rob grew up with the “Rat Pack” music, which is another reason for him to love it.

What represents a good performer? Voice, outfit, the performance on stage, the ability to wow people and to “lead” the crowds? If all these things bring about a fantastic show on stage, it’s easy to understand WHY Freddie Mercury could capture a status which is unmatched till today. Many musicians have copied a good part of his affectation. Some have managed to reflect it believably on stage (guess who J), others unfortunately failed.

“Elvis, grant me Serenity….”, every Robbie Williams Fan knows this prayer. Elvis Presley the king of Rock’n’Roll, Robbie Williams, the king of Pop. Without any doubt, Elvis Presley is still the “old bull” in the forest of musicians, singers and all who want to become some one day.
